One of my favorite alto saxophone mouthpieces for classical is my C star from Selmer Paris.
My Selmer Paris sax mouthpiece has worked for me since I was in middle school.
Selmer C Star Alto Sax Mouthpiece
The usage of this hard rubber mouthpiece quickly set me apart from other beginners when I started out.
Pros
Good for Classical
Great for band class
Perfect for blending in
Easy to play on for beginners
Great tone
The Selmer C star Alto Sax mouthpiece is great for playing classical music in Wind Ensemble. It provides a smooth and balanced tone for classical players who need to blend in.
The tone quality using this mouthpiece is very high, which makes it ideal for band class as part of a larger band ensemble.
As a beginner, it's easier than other mouthpieces to play with an excellent tone.
Cons
Not suited for Jazz Band
Not good for standing out
Not good for being very loud
While this mouthpiece is great for classical, it's hard to stand-out. It's a mouthpiece that's better for blending into play with other wind players.
This was the second mouthpiece I've ever owned, it was a terrific investment that my parents made to excel my ability to play music. I ended up doing really well in band, jazz band, wind ensemble, show choir band and more!
I strongly recommend the Selmer C* Alto Sax mouthpiece for beginner sax players who need something that will sound good with less effort.
Price
For about $165, this mouthpiece is a great price for the value that you'll find when using it.
It's a mouthpiece that's easy for beginners to sound good on with less effort.
Thank you for reading, good luck!
