So, here I'm going to compare my Bose QuietComfort Headphones with these inexpensive Yamaha HPH-50B Headphones.

What I can tell you about the two headphones is that the Yamaha headphones are specifically designed for Yamaha products and it sounds particularly good with Yamaha piano keyboards.

Whereas the Bose headphones have a lot of other features to support low bass sounds, bluetooth, and sound cancellation that may not necessarily be needed in a simple keyboard setting.

So, while the Bose headphones have more flexibility with pop/rock and other genres. The Yamaha headphone is meant for keyboard, specifically Yamaha digital pianos.

The other big difference between these headphones is the circumference of the ear "muff."

That Yamaha ear "muff" is smaller and has a more direct and immediate sound partly due to the small size of the headphone ear "muff."

The Bose headphone ear "muff" is more spacious, having a less direct impact on the piano players ear because the sound has a greater area to develop.

While it's a small detail, the way that the sound travels inside the headphone plays a role in the quality of its performance. I would recommend the Yamaha headphone if you're using the headphone for basic digital piano uses.

The sound of the Yamaha headphone is direct, immediate, and meant for piano keyboard players.

This headphone is distributed by Yamaha which confirms that it is a quality headphone that they'd like customer to use with their products.

If I were practicing my Yamaha keyboard with headphones I would choose the Yamaha headphones because it's better for the limited purpose of playing a piano.

The Bose headphone is able to support a multitude of sounds and features, it was not specifically designed for piano keyboard playing only. When playing keyboard, the headphone is essentially being underutilized.

As far as comfortability, the Bose headphone is much more comfortable for many hours of wear. It's specifically designed for comfort, whereas the Yamaha headphone is meant for utility.

I can connect the Bose headphones via bluetooth or connect the included cable with a stereo to 1/4" jack adapter. Unfortunately, the bluetooth connection typically suffers with high latency.
