Now, this is my favorite cane reed.
It's the 3 strength Vandoren reed for my V16 mouthpiece.
3 strength reeds are better for intermediate players. If you want to step up your playing really quickly, get 3 reeds sooner rather than later. It'll help you develop as a saxophone player and give you more authority in the room when playing the saxophone.
As you can see in the video, I've almost gone through all of them!
I often don't want to open a new reed out of the sealed package because I like these reeds so much, but for my audience I will open a new reed in the video above!
As you look at the reed, you can tell that it's not tapered.
Each reed comes with a serial number so you can tell this is a genuine Vandoren V16 from Paris France. It is "Superieure!" ;)
The grain is fairly even on the reed I chose to inspect, however, it had some irregular spacing. Alas, the shape is symettrical.
It looks like it was measured properly when it was being processed. Additionally, this is my favorite reed by Vandoren.
If you get the V16 mouthpiece, you've gotta try it with V16 reeds! It's going to make the mouthpiece sound its best.
This is by far my favorite reed because it always sounds great.
It gave me a signature sound in high school and in college that nobody else had. It was unique for me and those who listened to my saxophone playing.
So, don't miss out on a reed like this! I hope you enjoy your saxophone playing!
